Martial Arts Therapy

Where the money goes

We need money for everything as our program is offered completely free of charge. We want to reach out to everyone who needs our help but we cannot do it without meaningful support.

Parts of your contributions will go to:

Office/Training room – rent, utilities, equipment
Communications/transportation – phones & traveling
Conferences – Recruiting & training instructors
Insurance
Specially Trained Staff
Legal and Accounting
Public Relations and Advertising
Instructional materials
Production of training video
Staff – instructors, administrators, medical consultants
Martial Arts Therapy Tournaments

For each class to run optimally 2 times weekly at each new location costs amount to approximately $30,000 for a class of 15 students for the first year, and $22,000 for each year thereafter. Classes will run year round except for certain holidays and each class is officially for one hour but usually runs at least one hour and a half and sometimes more, depending upon the condition of the students.

The costs for each new class consist of:

$6,000 Martial Arts Equipment – Mats, bags, striking pads, bodyguards, foam weapons etc.
$2,250 Outfitting the students with uniform and gear for $150 per child x 15 students
$10,000 Instructor Fees – one instructor and two para-professionals
$5,000 Ongoing training for instructors
$5,000 Student Transportation
$2,500 Snack/Food

We hope to set up a more intensive program for the more serious families up to 4 times per week which would mean about 160-170 classes per year at an additional expense of just the instructors fees of about $10,000 more.

As of now we have been approached by mothers with children with cancer to set up a program in the South Jersey/Philadelphia and Pocono areas, in Miami and Los Angeles.

We really need your help.

A donation of:

$25 could send a child to a virtual Karate or Judo tournament
$50 could pay to train one instructor in the basic applications of Martial Arts Therapy
$100 could pay for our instructor fee for one of our classes
$150 could outfit one student with a uniform and protective gear and props
$400 could purchase one mat

Initially all monies will be used to build existing classes and start new classes.

Help us make a difference

Your contribution counts. Every dollar you give will help Martial Arts Therapy to reach more children. Now it can be your money that helps a child fight pain and cancer, and if you want to get involved with Martial Arts Therapy or see how donations are used, please visit our contributions page.
